First off, thanks for visiting this website. I hope you find it fun and interesting and will keep coming back. 🙂
WHO AM I?
I am a full-time filmmaker and part-time architect living mostly in Los Angeles and sometimes in Munich.
I started off in the photography world shooting negative film on architecture, often waiting long periods for a shot just to make sure no humans would spoil the photo with their presence. I have thousands of Kodachrome slides of beautiful uninhabited spaces that would make Atget jealous.
Then I bought myself a Canon Powershot. That’s when my photography skills went from good to non-existent. I have hard drives full with photos of family and friends screaming into the camera.
In 2011, I got the photo bug again when my husband, O, dropped a Leica M9 in my lap. It was a gift I could not refuse. The camera said, “Street, shoot the streets!” So in August 2011 I began my odyssey into the world of street photography. It’s a passion that now fills my hard drives with an occasional worthy image to look at.
WHAT’S THIS BLOG ABOUT?
This blog is about following my renewed photographic interests, especially street, photo journalism, photography and anything related to it. I see myself as a student. I am not an expert or a professional in this arena. I love to learn and share. It will showcase work from photographers and people related to photography who inspire me as well as my own humble work. It will also include reviews of the lessons I learn from workshops or classes along the way. Of course Leica related gadgets, equipment, or inspired stuff will have priority- particularly the fun stuff. O has reserved a corner in this blog, calling it his ‘Man Shack’ where he’ll post anything. He’s the gadget freak of our family. I will endeavor to post anything we (the photographic community) can all learn or benefit from.
